Minnesota State University Moorhead’s star junior forward Peyton Boom is receiving a familiar award. Boom has been named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team in women’s basketball, NSIC officials announced on Thursday morning.
This is the third time Boom has earned All-NSIC Honors, being named to the All-NSIC Second Team in 2019-20 and the All-NSIC North First Team in 2020-21.
She led the Dragons in multiple categories with 15.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Boom was also second on the team with 27 steals. In 21 regular-season games she had double figures in scoring 18 times, including dropping a team-high six double-doubles.
In 18 conference games this season, Boom averaged 15.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. She also recorded 11 blocks and 25 steals while shooting 53 percent from the field.
