On Monday league officials announced that Emilee Buringa of North Dakota State University has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Player of the Week.
She helped lead the Bison to a 4-0 weekend at the GATA Challenge in Statesboro, Ga., hosted by Georgia Southern. The sophomore center fielder was hot with the bat, going 7-for-11 hitting with a .636 batting average. Buringa also hit a home run and double along with driving in seven runs and scoring five times.
