Kevin Koch, a former Minnesota State University Moorhead quarterback and assistant coach has been hired as a coaching assistant for the Chicago Bears.
Koch was a two year starting quarterback at MSUM in 2010 and 2011. He was given All-NSIC honorable mention honors in 2011. That same season he amassed 2,099 passing yards which is fifth-most in a single season in school history.
After graduating from MSUM, the Elmurst, Ill. native served as an assistant under Head Coach Steve Laqua from 2014-2016. During those 3 seasons he was a defensive backs and special teams coach. In July 2017 Koch accepted a position as a graduate assistant for Northwestern in the Big Ten. He was a graduate assistant for the University of Northwestern from 2017-2018. For the past three seasons Koch has served as a defensive quality control analyst at Northwestern.
In 2012 he earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science at MSUM.
Koch joins former MSUM quarterback Marc Trestman to coach for the Bears. Trestman was Chicago’s head coach in 2013 and 2014.
