Justin Jefferson Is The November NFC Offensive Player Of the Month

After an outstanding November, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been named the NFC Offensive player of the Month.

Jefferson ended the month with 24 receptions for 464 yards and three touchdowns. He set a single game career high with 9 receptions, including 134 yards receiving in a 27-20 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. When the Vikings hosted division rival Green Bay Jefferson caught 8 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns in the 34-31 win, earning him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The Vikings wrapped up November against the San Francisco 49ers where Jefferson surpassed the 1,000 yard receiving mark for the season. The milestone landed him in the same company as Hall of Famer Randy Moss as the only Vikings to reach 1,000 yards receiving in their first two seasons. Jefferson’s 464 receiving yards are third most by a Viking in the month of November in franchise history. Randy Moss had 473 in 1998 and the team record 510 in 2000.

This is Jefferson’s first NFC Offensive Player of the Month honor, making him the 12th Vikings in franchise history to win the award. He is also the fifth player under head coach Mike Zimmer who arrived in 2014 to be the NFC Player of the Month, joining Adrian Peterson in November 2015, Case Keenum in November 2017, Kirk Cousins in October of 2019, and Dalvin Cook in October of 2020.

The other two Vikings wide receivers to win the NFC Offensive Player of the Month honor were Jake Reed in September of 1997 and Cris Carter in November of 1999.
