Gallo leads Twins to series sweep of Kansas City

(Kansas City, MO) -- The Twins got a huge day on offense from its new first baseman during a 7-4 win over the Royals in Kansas City. Joey Gallo went three-for-four with a pair of home runs and four RBI. He signed a one-year contract to join Minnesota back in December. Ryan Jeffers also drove in a pair of runs while Joe Ryan earned the win after allowing one earned run over six innings.

The Twins swept the three-game series to begin the season 3-0.

Matt Duffy and Edward Olivares each slugged homers for Kansas City, which dropped to 0-and-3. Brad Keller took the loss after giving up two runs in less than five innings.

Thw Twins are set to visit the Miami Marlins for a three game series beginning on Monday at 5:40 p.m. Tyler Mahle will be on the bump for Minnesota.
