(Washington, DC) -- Amazon is being investigated by a House committee over its labor practices.

Specifically, the probe looks into a warehouse collapse in Illinois last year that turned deadly. Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney of New York was among those to send a letter to Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.

Democrats including Maloney are concerned that Amazon is forcing workers to perform their jobs while things like tornadoes and hurricanes are happening.

A twister tore through the warehouse in the town of Edwardsville last December. Six workers died as a result of the facility's roof collapsing.
