(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota Game and Fish will issue 3,300 fewer deer gun hunting licenses this year.

Wildlife biologists say while this past winter was fairly mild, the state's deer population is still recovering from previous harsh winters. Deer populations in the southeast corner of the state took the hardest hit, and will take some time to bounce back.

The deadline to enter the license lottery is midnight on June 5th.
