(Bismarck, ND) -- A North Dakota court has ruled that two state lawmakers are expected to testify in a lawsuit regarding a ban on transgender healthcare for minors.

The judge ruled in favor of Gender Justice, who are asking to subpoena State Representative Brandon Prichard and Bill Tveit over social media posts regarding bans to LGBTQ policies and issues in the state. Gender Justice argued the posts show a bias against transgender people and other members of the LGBTQ community.

Lawyers are fighting over a law passed in the 2023 legislative session that banned medical services for transgender children. It also bans medical professionals from prescribing hormone treatments to minors.
