(Washington, DC)  --  The Senate will now have to deal with the articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The Republican-led House delivered the charges against Mayorkas to the Senate Tuesday, and senators will be sworn in as jurors today.  It's not clear how Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer plans to handle the trial, but he's expected to hold a vote to dismiss or table the impeachment on a simple majority vote.

Senate Republicans demanding a trial plan to throw up procedural roadblocks to drag out the issue and highlight what they say is the Biden administration's mishandling of the southern border.
