(Fargo, ND) -- Despite some light rain on Sunday conditions are prime for brush fires in several North Dakota counties.

The driest conditions are in northwest and north central North Dakota.

WDAY Radio Now Chief Meteorologist Dean Wysocki says those regions are most at risk.

The National Weather Service anticipates some above normal precipitation over the next two weeks but cautions that warmer and windy days are ahead and those are perfect conditions for fast spreading grass fires.

Residents are advised to stay updated on the alerts and restrictions in their area.
