(Washington, DC)  --  The House of Representatives is unveiling a bipartisan bill to ban TikTok.

On Tuesday, both Democrat and Republican House reps introduced the bill that would force TikTok to separate from its Chinese-owned parent company, ByteDance, or be banned in the U.S. The bill gives ByteDance five months to divest TikTok before the ban would go into effect.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will consider the bill Thursday.
