Chair of North Dakota PERS board resigns

(Bismarck, ND) -- The chair of the North Dakota PERS Board is resigning.

The board oversees the benefits and retirement of public employees in the state.

Michelle Kommer, a former state commerce commissioner, was appointed as chair of the board by Governor Burgum last fall to replace Mona Tedford Rindy.

Her resignation comes less than six months after she was appointed.
