WDAY Radio Meteorologists among handful in world to become certified in LRC weather forecasting

(Fargo, ND) -- Two North Dakota meteorologists are joining an incredibly select group of experts who are consistently able to predict weather patterns and forecasts months in advance.

WDAY Radio Meteorologists Dean Wysocki and Justin Storm are now officially certified to interpret data using the Lezak Recurring Cycle (LRC), a way to observe cycling weather patterns to predict future events. Dean and Justin join a handful of meteorologists across the world who are officially trained to observe patterns in this way, and have predicted storms and other significant weather events months in advance. 

"It's  a privilege and something super cool to be a part of, being on this leading edge of being able to forecast months down the road," said Meteorologist Justin Storm. "There are very few people who are able to do it accurately, and being able to do it with the LRC is just a step beyond that."

"Whether it be predicting what kind of seed to buy?  Is it going to be a drought year? Is it going to be a wet year? Can we get out in the field early?  What would be the best days for spraying?  All of this saves our ag community tons of money," said Meteorologist Dean Wysocki.

"The LRC is on the cusp of a breakthrough in science and meteorology... Dean and Justin are two of a very small group of people in the world that have an understanding of what the LRC is, which is a cycling weather pattern, and the ability to forecast using it," said Gary Lezak, the creator of the LRC. "These guys are two of less than a dozen people in the world who we've identified that can do such a thing.
