Signatures submitted for North Dakota measure setting age limit for congressional representatives

(Fargo, ND) -- Secretary of State Michael Howe has confirmed that a group has submitted signatures for a proposed measure that would place an age limit on North Dakotans serving in Congress.

The group "Retire Congress North Dakota" has turned in 41,842 signatures for the measure.

The measure would prevent anyone over the age of 80 being elected to the U.S Senate or House from North Dakota.

Howe's office has until March 15th to determine  the validity of the signatures.

The measure needs 31,164 approved signatures to appear on the ballot for the primary election set for June 11th.
