Bismarck Police: Woman seriously injured after being assaulted physically and sexually for hours

(Bismarck, ND) -- Police have arrested a man for allegedly attacking a woman in her Bismarck home.  

Officers were called to a home on North Seventh Street early Saturday morning after a woman reported that she'd been assaulted. Responding officers found the woman seriously injured in the home, and learned that a man followed her home from the library before he reportedly physically and sexually assaulted her for hours.

36 year-old Edward Harper Jr was arrested in connection with the attack. He faces charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, gross sexual imposition, and burglary.
