(Minneapolis, MN) -- The U.S. Supreme Court is rejecting an appeal by the former Minneapolis police officer who killed George Floyd.
That means Derek Chauvin's second-degree murder conviction and sentence will be upheld.
Chauvin's legal team tried to argue that he was denied a fair trial due to prejudice and publicity surrounding the case.
The now 47-year-old currently serving a 21-year sentence in Arizona.
