South Dakota among leading states for growth in homeschooling

(Pierre, SD)  --  South Dakota is seeing one of the biggest jumps in home-schooled students in the U.S.  

An analysis from "The Washington Post" compared enrollment numbers from 2017-2018 to 2022-2023 in 30 states.  

South Dakota saw a 94-percent increase in home-schooled students, which is the third highest.  

The District of Columbia reported the highest increase in students who home school at 108 percent. 

North Dakota's rate of homeschooling increased by 38 percent during the same time period.

Minnesota showed a homeschooling growth rate of 39 percent.
