Burgum directs U.S. and state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of victims in Maine mass shooting

(Bismarck, ND) -- Governor Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the U.S. and ND flags at half-staff to honor victims of the mass shootings in Lewiston, Maine.

Burgum made the declaration after President Joe Biden issued a proclomation on Thursday. People flying flags at home or businesses are invited to also lower their flags. The order from Joe Biden and Burgum will remain in effect until sunset on Monday, October 30th. 

Maine residents are continuing to shelter in place as the manhunt for the shooting suspect continues.
