Winter Weather impacting North Dakota

(Bismarck, NC) -- People across North Dakota are feeling the first major impact of the cold season.

The National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for south central and southwest regions of the state through tonight.

A Winter Storm Watch is also in place for the region through tomorrow night, which could create more than six-inches of snow.

A period of light freezing rain is possible overnight.

For the state's northern communities, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Friday morning with the total snow accumulations expected to reach anywhere from six to 12 inches.
