North Dakota health officials issue ten blue-green algae waterway advisories

(Bismarck, ND)  --  Health officials are reminding residents there are still several areas where blue-green algae is affecting waterways in the state.  

The algae is toxic to people and animals and can affect the kidneys and liver.  

There are ten areas where the algae could be harmful.  

Seven were posted in June and the areas identified in July include Harvey Dam in Wells County, McKenna Lake in Logan County and Bowman-Harvey Dam in Bowman County.
