NDDEQ reports multiple spills in Western North Dakota

(REGION) — Multiple spills have been reported by North Dakota’s Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) on Monday afternoon.

According to NDDEQ, Enable Bakken Crude Services LLC notified state agencies on Thursday that a produced water release from a six-inch gathering line released 2,290 barrels.

The spill’s cause is under investigation.

On Monday, Black Hills Trucking notified state agencies that a 150-barrel crude oil spill occurred as a result of a hauler truck accident on Monday. The incident was 10 miles northwest of Ray in Williams County. The oil release was contained to a road ditch.

An oil spill in Stark County last week impacted rangeland surrounding a well pad near Belfield, and a diesel spill on Sunday impacted the Souris River in McHenry County, according to the NDDEQ.
