(Fargo, ND) -- U.S. Senator John Hoeven is reacting to a report in the Wall Street Journal that North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum will soon announce a a bid for the presidency.
"Well I've known Doug for a long time. He's been a strong leader in the private sector and as our governor and of course you know it's exciting. Obviously I support him and we'll see how it goes," said Hoeven.
Hoeven says Burgum will put out a "good message for North Dakota" and wishes the governor "the very best".
Meanwhile Burgum is scheduled to make what his representatives call a "major announcement" Wednesday June 7th in Fargo at an event hosted by the Fargo West Fargo Chamber of Commerce.
Hoeven appeared on "What's on Your Mind" on AM 1100 The Flag.
