(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's oil production is up.

The Oil and Gas Division says production increased nine percent in February. Officials say current prices are seven percent over what was forecast.

A Department of Mineral Resources official says former Lieutenant Governor Brent Sanford and the petroleum council are leading efforts to bring in out-of-state and international workers to fill jobs in the oil and gas sector.

This also comes as the Department also reports that natural gas production in February was up seven-percent from the previous month. State officials say they expect production to continue to go up in the coming months.
