(Bismarck, ND) -- Governor Doug Burgum is appointing a new judge to North Dakota's South Central Judicial District.

Bismarck attorney Jackson Lofgren will fill the seat vacated by Douglas Bahr.

Bahr was appointed to the state Supreme Court earlier this year to replace retired Justice Gerald VandeWalle.

The South Central Judicial District is comprised of Burleigh, Emmons, Grant, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Oliver, Sheridan, and Sioux counties.

Lofgren will be based in Bismarck.
