(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo non-profit called BIO Girls is aiming to make a difference.

"We are a 12-week program and our mission is to increase the self-esteem of adolescent girls through empowerment of self and service to others," said BIO Girls Founder and Executive Director Missy Heilman.

Heilman says BIO stands for "beautiful inside and out". Heilman, a mother of two daughters, says she started the venture in 2013 when she became "sensitive to all the messages sent to girls to be someone other than who god intended them to be".

BIO Girls programs are now offered at 88 locations across the upper Midwest. Learn more by checking out the link below.
