(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota House is advancing a bill to provide 500-thousand dollars from state general funds to help with the construction of a Fisher House in Fargo.

The Fisher House Foundation houses military and veteran families near Veterans Affairs medical centers while a loved one receives treatment in the hospital.

The bill passed unanimously and is headed to the Senate.

Lawmakers are set to reconvene Wednesday after a mid-session break, but may get a late start as state offices and the capitol are set to open at 10 a.m. due to the winter storm that has moved across North Dakota.
