(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota lawmakers are considering a measure that would make curling the state's official sport.

The bill was brought before a Senate committee Wednesday. Republican sponsor Senator Sean Cleary says North Dakota has a rich history with the sport and has nearly a dozen curling clubs.

Testimony on the importance of the bill was provided by a pair of middle school students.
