(Bismarck, ND) -- The state Judicial Nominating Committee is revealing the three finalists for a seat on the North Dakota Supreme Court.

South Central District Judge Doug Bahr, North Central District Judge Stacy Louser, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jake Rodenbiker were chosen to move forward in the selection process.

The seat is currently being held by 89-year-old Justice Gerald VandeWalle, who is retiring January 31st.

The committee interviewed seven candidates for the spot yesterday before choosing the finalists, who will be recommended to Governor Doug Burgum. The appointment will be the governor's second to the high court since taking office in 2016.
