(Bismarck, ND) -- A Sanford Health executive says they have received multiple awards related to the employment of veterans.

Todd Schaefer is The President and CEO of Sanford Health's Bismarck Region. He joined AM 1100 The Flag's What's on Your Mind to speak on multiple achievements that have been awarded to them based on their support of military veterans.

"We were number five for the Military Friendly Employer List - that's out of more than 1,5000 organizations that competed for that," said Schaefer, "Number six as the Top Military Spouse Employer, we are also recognized as The Top Not For-Profit Healthcare Organization in Military Times.

Schaefer says the company was also awarded The Freedom Award from the U.S Secretary of Defense and the Employees For Barred Reserve in 2019, and the Bismarck region was awarded The Golden Eagle Award from the Bismarck Chamber. The president says the services they provide are the reason they receive the recognition, which he says includes the continuation of benefits to employees, educational scholarships to veterans, a "Veteran of the Year" award, a "Remembering Everyone Deployed" day that happens every Friday, and multiple other benefits.
