(Bismarck, ND) -- A U.S House Candidate looking to represent North Dakota is sharing her goals if she would be elected in the upcoming November General Election.

Cara Mund joined WDAY's Thursdays with Tony to speak on her campaign. Mund says the deciding factor for her to enter the race came down to a lack of representation

"Now more than ever, I don't feel represented on the ballot," said Mund, speaking about her decision to run, "It's not that women don't want to serve in these roles, we want to, we are capable, we are eager."

Mund says she supports a women's right to an abortion, working to improve access to and lower costs of insulin, and work to bridge a gap between the two parties in Washington. The candidate says she does not like The Biden Administration's attempts to $10,000 of student debt per borrower, saying the attempt is not a long-term solution and acts as a Band-Aid.

"Solutions that would potentially help all for years to come would be starting the interest rate after the students have graduated," said Mund, "A small step in that direction would impact all."
