University of Mary offering scholarship to students who are pregnant, have children

(Bismarck, ND) -- The University of Mary is offering scholarships to students who are pregnant or have children.

University officials the scholarships are a way to provide a stable environment and community for students experiencing a crisis pregnancy or who recently had a child.

A family donated money to support students in crisis pregnancy situations with free room and board and childcare. Officials say the step is a way to act to support students who choose to carry a baby to term rather than have an abortion.

Logistics for the program are still being worked out.
