Three Tornadoes in McLean County confirmed by National Weather Service

(McLean County, ND) -- Three tornadoes have been confirmed by the National Weather Service in the Ruso area of McLean County on Monday.

The first tornado touched down four miles east of Ruso and lasted only about one minute It received an rating of EF-U, or Unknown.

The second tornado formed about two miles south of Ruso and moved slowly south.It snapped several hardwood trees and destroyed an animal shelter. This tornado was rated EF-1 with estimated wind speeds of 110 miles per hour.

Lastly, a third tornado developed while the second one was still occurring. It destroyed three wooden granaries and damaged farm equipment. It has been rated EF-2, with estimated wind speeds of 120 miles per hour.

No injuries were reported from any of the three severe weather events.
