Red Trail Energy waiting to benefit from Carbon Capture operations

(Richardton, ND) -- Red Trail Energy is working to benefit from its new carbon capture and storage operation.

An open house was held at the Richardton plant Wednesday. CEO Gerald Bachmeier says the facility has sequestered over 19-thousand metric tons of carbon emissions since beginning its carbon capture operations in mid-June.

The ethanol facility has the first carbon capture facility approved under the state primary enforcement authority.

The facility is still waiting to benefit from selling ethanol to the West Coast market, sales made possible by its low carbon intensity.
