State Superintendent Baesler says school districts are working to comply with law banning CRT

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota's Superintendent of Public Instruction says her department and districts around the state are taking steps to comply with the state law banning critical race theory in classrooms.

"School boards need to draft a very specific, unique policy on what they will do with critical race theory and how they will implement this law," said Kirsten Baesler.

Baesler also says school boards are required to inform parents on the process they can follow if they wish to review instructional material used in classrooms if they believe it violates the state law.

Districts are also no longer allowed to sponsor or lead teacher professional development programs which include critical race theory content. Baesler appeared Wednesday morning on "What's on Your Mind" on AM 1100 the Flag.
