(Dickinson, ND) -- Active shooting training is taking place in Dickinson at a local elementary school.

Local police and fire departments are working together around Jefferson Elementary School to train for active shooter scenarios between July 25th to the 28th. The training is being conducted during daytime hours, so residents may see increased presences of police and other local officials in the area.

The training is being led by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training, which is a program through Texas State University.
