(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's oil production is bouncing back after a stormy April.

The State Mineral Resources Department says production in May reached over one million barrels per day, close to March's total. April production dropped below a million barrels daily for the first time in two years.

Production peaked in November 2019 at more than one-point-five million barrels a day.
