(Bismarck, ND) -- The Diocese of Bismarck is investigating the possibility of canonization of a North Dakota woman.

Bishop David Kagan says Michelle Duppong had a great and joyful faith that she shared. The bishop says Duppong was the driving force behind the creation of the THIRST Eucharistic Conference held in Bismarck.

He says after her death in 2015, he received letters about how her life had an impact on others. That's when he decided to begin a formal church investigation into her life with the possibility of beatification and canonization to sainthood.
