(Bismarck, ND) -- Abortion rights rallies are planned for Saturday all across North Dakota.

Planned Parenthood North Central States is organizing the rallies, saying they will fight an upcoming abortion ban in North Dakota "at the Legislature and at the ballot box."

Locations for the rallies include:

  • Bismarck, Saturday, July 9th, 10 a.m, State Capitol

  • Minot, Saturday, July 9th, 10 a.m, Partner tables at Pride in the Inside

  • Fargo, Saturday, July 9th, 6 – 7:30 p.m, Fargo City Hall

“Our access to abortion shouldn't depend on where we live, how much money we make or who we are. We should be able to make the best medical decisions for ourselves and our families,” said Kathrine Christensen, North Dakota state director, external affairs for Planned Parenthood North Central States. “We will be organizing supporters, at the legislature and at the ballot box making our voices heard every day until we all have the freedom in North Dakota to access the care we need without obstacles, shame, stigma or harassment.”

ERA Now, Red River Women's Clinic, ACLU of North Dakota, WIN Fund, North Dakota Women's Network, and Prairie Action North Dakota are all supporting the rallies. The state's trigger law that bans abortion is set to take effect July 28th.
