Becker County officials searching for runaway man, seeking public assistance

(Becker County, MN) -- Officials are searching for a man who escaped custody immediately after being sentenced to prison in Detroit Lakes.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Alexander Paul Robere was not in custody when he came to the courthouse for his sentencing hearing, after posting his $15,000 bail related to an Escape from Custody charge. Officials say following his sentence of 20 months in prison, Robere immediately fled from the 2nd floor of the courthouse, and escaped the scene. Nearby law enforcement searched the immediate area for Robere, and did not locate the suspect.

Officials say Robere is described as a white male, is 6'1", weighs 182 lbs, with short brown hair. Robere was wearing a gray cut off t-shirt, denim shorts, and black socks and shoes. Anyone with information on Robere's location are asked to call the Becker County Sheriff's Office at 218-847-2661
