Flag Family Media acquires The McKenzie County Farmer

(McKenzie County, ND) -- The McKenzie County Farmer is soon to be under new ownership following a purchase from a Fargo media organization. 

Flag Family Media finalized their purchase of The Mckenzie County Farmer in Watford City, North Dakota. The purchase includes the newspaper, along with their online properties, social media accounts, and their business properties in Watford City. The ownership transition is expected to take place on July 1st. The finalized terms of the deal are not disclosed at this time.

The purchase is Flag Family Media's first step outside of radio. The organization currently owns multiple radio stations, including WZFG "The Flag" FM 92.3,  KTGO "The Flag" FM 92.7, and multiple Minnesota stations including KOZY 93.1 FM, KMFY 96.9 FM, and KBAJ 105.5 FM. 

The McKenzie County Farmer is the winner of hundreds of awards from the North Dakota Newspaper Association's Better Newspaper Contest, in addition to awards received from the North Dakota and South Dakota Newspaper Convention "Best of the Dakotas" awards in the General Excellence category.
