First female North Dakota Supreme Court Justice dies

(Bismarck, ND) -- The first woman to serve on the North Dakota Supreme Court has died.

Beryl Levine died Saturday at her home in San Mateo, California. The Winnipeg native was appointed to the court in 1985 by Governor George Sinner, and served until her retirement in 1996.

Levine was 86.
