(Minot, ND) -- The baby formula shortage continues to affect North Dakota families who are scrambling to feed their children.

Monday, the FDA announced a new consent decree with Michigan manufacturer Abbott in an effort to provide some relief. The factory that was shut down back in February because of unsanitary working conditions that led to a recall of baby formula is now allowed to reopen.

Conditions of the consent decree are that Abbott must meet federal standards for production that is set to begin in two weeks.
