(Bismarck, ND) -- The nominating committee of the state Board of Higher Education nominated six finalists for two positions pivotal in overseeing North Dakota's 11 public colleges and universities.

The committee selected Erika Kenner, Kevin Black, and Curtis Biller for the position held previously by Jill Louters, who resigned on Friday to accept a part-time position with North Dakota State University's extension service. The committee selected incumbent Danita Bye, Sabina Gasper, and Stanly Schauer to compete for the second seat, which Bye currently holds.

The two finalists lists will now go to Governor Burgum's desk, where a final decision will be made for who will fill the two open seats.
