(Pierre, SD) -- The South Dakota House officially voted to impeach state Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.
The impeachment follows a 2020 accident where Ravnsborg struck and killed South Dakota man Joe Boever. At the time of the accident Ravnsborg claimed he struck a deer or a different large animal.
The next step in the impeachment process lies in the state Senate, where a two-thirds majority is needed to remove Ravnsborg from his position. The impeached Attorney General will be temporarily removed from his position for the duration of the trial.
