(Pierre, SD) -- South Dakota House members will vote on articles of impeachment for Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg Tuesday.

Ravnsborg is accused in the resolution of not being forthcoming with a 911 dispatcher the night of a crash where he hit and killed a pedestrian in September 2020, as well as with detectives as the investigation proceeded. He is also accused of using state assets to benefit himself personally. The resolution was drafted by Representative Will Mortenson.

New information is coming out about the crash in which Ravnsborg hit and killed Joe Boever at the west edge of Highmore. Newly released reports indicate that neither Ravnsborg nor Boever had any alcohol in their systems at the time of the crash. Toxicology results also indicate Boever had a high level of anti-anxiety medication in his system at the time of the crash, but not enough to be fatal. Ravnsborg was tested the following day for drugs and none were found in his system.

Members of the House Select Committee on Investigation recommended last month that the chamber not vote to impeach.
