(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota air travel is nearing pre-pandemic levels.

Travel at North Dakota's airports has seen a 57-percent increase from February 2021 to February 2022. The Bismarck Airport saw 44-percent more passengers, Williston gained 69-percent more, and Dickinson saw an increase of 156-percent. Each of the airports is still experiencing a decline from 2019 numbers.

The Aeronautics Commission cited challenges such as workforce shortages, fleet availability, and a lack of business and international travel demand as reasons why customer numbers still fall short of pre-pandemic levels.
