(Bismarck, ND) -- A North Dakota law enforcement agency says it is prioritizing patrolling even as gas prices remain high.

North Dakota Highway Patrol Major Tom Iverson says the agency is encouraging troopers to stay out on the roads. Iverson says it's important that troopers are searching for violations, responding to calls for services and crashes.

Troopers average around 50 to 100 miles per day depending on where they are in the state.
