Martha Holton Dimick joins contested race for Hennepin County Attorney

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Another candidate is joining the race to become the next Hennepin County Attorney.

Martha Holton Dimick is now officially running for the contested position. She cites rising crime statistics and the 2020 police killing of George Floyd as her key reasons for running.

Holton Dimick has prior experience in Hennepin County. She was a part of the Hennepin County Attorney's Office back in 1999, eventually transferring to the Adult Prosecution Division. In 2009, she was hired by Minneapolis City Attorney Susan Segal as a Deputy City Attorney of the Criminal Division. In 2012, then Governor Mark Dayton appointed Holton Dimick to serve as a judge on the Fourth Judicial District Bench -to which she has served several terms.
