(Bismarck, ND) -- Two North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers have lost their jobs after accusations of misconduct.

Accusations began following an evening when Lieutenant Steven Johnson, Sergeant Travis Skar, Johnson's wife, and two other people partied in a hot tub at Johnson's house just before Christmas 2020. Johnson was Skar's supervisor and fired the sergeant several months later after allegedly finding out about an affair Skar was having on duty and lied about. The same day of the firing, a woman accused Johnson of sexual assault stemming from the night of the party, a move Johnson says was retaliation on Skar's behalf.

Johnson was also fired and his trial is set to start in February.
