(Bismarck, ND) -- Some North Dakota teens under 18 are eligible for COVID vaccine boosters.

The CDC is recommending 16 and 17-year-olds receive booster shots. Teens must have gotten their Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series at least six months ago, or the Johnson and Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.

Health officials say boosters are especially important with the omicron variant beginning to spread. This as the second case of the variant was detected in Minnesota, as a student from Minnesota State University - Mankato tested positive late last week, and is recovering.
